2017 Holy Week Schedule

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life?” (Romans 5:10) Here’s a look at our Holy Week schedule in detail:

Maundy Thursday ServiceIf I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” (John 13:14) Our Maundy Thursday Service is April 13 at 7:00 pm. We’ll be following the Lord’s command to wash each other’s feet, a symbol of his great love for us and our duty to share that love with others. The message will be provided by Chaplain Forester. This service will have communion.

Good Friday Service

– He is risen! Just as the women came to the tomb early Sunday morning and found it empty, join us on the beach, Sunday at 6:00 am for our “Sonrise” service and hear the good news of Easter! As we watch the sun rise over the ocean, we are reminded that the Son rose from the dead. There will be no communion at this service.
Breakfast – There will be a light breakfast at 7:30 am between our two Sunday services. Food will be provided by our fellowship committee.
Easter Service – Our main Easter service is Sunday at 9:30 am, and will feature a mix of contemporary music and traditional liturgy, all with a spirit of celebration in the risen Lord! Communion will be offered at this service.

Lent at LCG!

riversLent is a season of 40 days before Easter (not including Sundays) marked by repentance. Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness fasting and resisting temptation before beginning his ministry. Israel spent 40 years in the desert on their way to the Promised Land. The flood covered the earth for 40 days. God gave the Ninevites 40 days to repent. In the Bible, “40” is often associated with a trial, a test, a hardship that must be endured before something good. We can see our lives as a sort of “40,” a time of testing and hardship before we see the “Promised Land.”  Yet in this “desert” that we must wander, we see God providing “rivers” of his mercy, as he did for Israel. And these moments of grace and mercy should lead us to worship.  Every Wednesday in this Lenten season, we will take a spiritual journey through the wilderness and drink from these rivers.

Join us every Wednesday in Lent:
